Everybodys Reading Festival 2015 To Kill a Mockingbird October 3 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm African Caribbean Centre Leicester

Harper Lee’s novel ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ sees racial injustice envelop a small-town community in the USA. A white lawyer seeks the truth, and brings hope to a neighbourhood in turmoil. By reading and discussing extracts from the book, Leicester’s acclaimed author and poet Carol Leeming FRSA and poet Bobba Cass will help you discover why this book is used across the world to teach about the history of race relations in America. The event will also feature a short performance of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Free prize draw with copies of the book to be won.
This event is suitable for families, ideally 14+ as there is some adult content.
