LeicesterShire Music Hub Begins New Chapter in Leicester City with BAME & Culturally Diverse Communities

Carol Leeming MBE FRSA, has now successfully completed a consultancy,  for LeicesterShire Music Hub (LMEH) that took place during April May 2019. Carol produced and submitted a final written Report to Leicester-shire Cultural Diversity Music Education and presented this report to the Executive and LSMS Staff.

Overall, the consultancy met its objectives, to  promote awareness of LMEH and its work, to recruit BAME and Culturally Diverse Music Educators and Makers in Leicester City to engage with LMEH. With a view to establishing a Network to address issues faced by the participants in the consultation. Importantly also  to recruit BAMe & culturally Diverse key participants to become members of the LMEH BAME & Culturally Diverse Music Education Network in Leicester, and to register their interest for governance roles within LMEH going forward.

This marks a new chapter for all parties concerned, there is much excitement and enthusiasm for the first LMEH BAME & Culturally Diverse Network meeting scheduled for this October 2019 in Leicester City. With further meetings planned by LMEH with De Montfort University and Leicester City Council, to explore the possibility for LMEH to have a base/presence in the city.
